STEAM AND INNOVATION

1.Understanding Current, Circuit, Electronic components, Analog and Digital Signals, Arduino Coding ,E-piano creation on Tinker cad. It consists of eight different notes all of which is from high to low. The materials required for this is thirteen wires, an Arduino board, a breadboard, a buzzer and eight resistors.

2. Periodic Table

This project shows how chemistry and physics would look like if they were combined. It is a part of physics as I made it using LEDs, batteries, and wires, and is also a part chemistry because I outlined the periodic table. I made this project, by first outlining the periodic table using more than 600 LEDs, then after the outline was complete, I dragged two batteries onto the screen, and then I connected all the LED’s to the batteries. After that was completed, I simulated the project to see how it looked like, and after simulating it a few times and changing it here and there, I got my project to look like how I imagined it.

3. It’s Diwali

Having a party is fun, for that you need a good DJ lighting system.

We have come up with an amazing lighting system for parties, functions, which is efficient in power usage and is good looking, you can get different lighting designs and patterns by the click of a button. - Sai Sankalp 7M

4. Let’s light up

We were given a challenge to create a circuit in which the LED would emit different colors when it is switched on. We were instructed that it should have the concept of Arduino in it. I have made a very simple circuit which has a RGB LED in it, thus giving out the combinations of 2 colors at a time from that, ranging from red, green, and blue. In my circuit the purple is a combination of red and blue. Likewise the same goes to all the colors that is coming out. -Richa Hemthilak 7C

5. That’s my Initial

My goal while making the project was to build a fancy light circuit using the concepts of Arduino and programming that I learned previously.

My project has many RGB lights connected to the Arduino board in the shape of the letter

M. I chose to make my project in this shape because it is the first letter of my name. This project was made with the help of RGB LEDs, many wires, Arduino board and 8 pin headers.

I did not use resistors, because I wanted the LEDs to be bright, and I had many LEDs so, they all would share the electricity and will not burst like they do when there are only few LEDs. I loved making this project, since it helped me understand how to use RGB LEDs to make beautiful and fancy lights for parties.

6. A game for our pets

As per researchers, our pets can also play games, hence I developed a game on Tynker for the project ‘Capstone’. This game is developed to increase the concentration of our pets. In the starting of the game the player(dog) will choose the character from the available options. In this game the health of the player (dog) will increase if the player is able to click on the food liked by him from the options of oranges, bones, and cat. The health will decline if an unlike food is clicked, for e.g., oranges, as citrus fruits are disliked by dogs. Maximum points for winning the bone, as a reward, the dog should collect 140 points which brings the game to an end. - Gauri Rohatgi 8D

7. A game archive

The game is designed for pets. It contains three mini games in which the pet can interact with the digital mini games. Each mini game is targeted towards a certain pet, for example, the fishing game is designed for cats and the bone catching game is designed for dogs.

The game is coded on Tynker and using the coding blocks and arranging the order of the coding blocks helped to reach towards the final, finished game. Each coding block and function is used to make the game more functional.

I started off the project by using one of the presets in Tynker. I used some of the original coding given with the preset and coded more by myself to make the game function. I tried various types of codes and by doing trial and error method, I was able to see the flaws and mistakes in the coding and was able to correct it.

9. Follow the Laser

This Game is designed only for pets as most of the animals love chasing a laser. This game was designed for a cat that will always follow the laser on the screen. The game is interactive and interesting to pass time. But, it is not good for pets to sit in front of it all the time.

1. Explosive Detector

This drone is an octocopter, used to detect explosives. I have used an octocopter drone so that I can get more stability to carry the equipment to detect the explosive. I have also used two-bladed propellers so that there can be enough lift thrust and it uses less battery power. It can fly for 6 hours. My drone has a lift capacity of 11 kg. All the data that is collected and recorded are send live to the base from where the drone is controlled. I have used a Go Pro hero 9 camera. First the drone will scan an area using lasers and sound waves, the laser beam will go through a laser filter to expand it and work like a laser scanner, the

laser detects bombs that are disguised and not covered, this is a two-step process in which molecules are fragmented and excited by a laser to produce fluorescent light. When the laser reacts with the explosive residue the laser sensor detects it and send alerts and a GPS location, it will also take a photo of it with a Hasselblad L1D-20c camera. The ultrasonic sound wave detects covered explosives like a landmine, and it can also detect plastic landmines by the variation. When it detects a landmine, it will alert the people at that place and drop a squib bomb which is a small bomb over the landmine and explode it. I have used ultrasonic sound wave because it is a high frequency sound wave that humans cannot hear. My target is to save lives from explosion which leads to injuries and death.

2. Drones - Lifeguard:

The drone I have designed is to automatically monitor and support aid for lifeguards at beach shores. The six-rotor drone has a camera, guide lights and supporting hardware including sensors and processing units. The anchor placed below the camera unit carries inflatable life buoy rings and jackets. These life buoy rings and jackets automatically inflates as soon as released from the anchors and can be delivered. The drone is designed to function and monitor an area which can be set by the lifeguards and can help in continuous surveillance. The drone detects any unusual or dangerous activity by using the live feeds from the camera using sophisticated AI technologies, which are cloud computed.

The sensors can send a warning alert if the swimmers cross the safety line and can also detect rip currents, high winds and high tides and can instantly alert the lifeguards. The drone sends a report containing visuals and exact GPS location.

Inter-house innovation competitions were held for Grade 6-8 in June 2020. There were different competitions held for different grades. It included Mask Making (for grade 6-8), Drive in Multiplex (grade 8), Kill the corona (grade 7), Hand sanitizer (grade 6). Three winners were selected in each category based on their creativity and innovation.

The students created a 3D drive in multiplex model in an online platform. Winners were selected in based on their creativity, design, and innovation.

  1. This multiplex contains high raised platform arranged in the form of stairs to accommodate everyone to the screen. The dimension of the screen is well measured for everyone to get a comfortable view. The table-like structure is simply an elevator which will be able to lift the car, the elevator will move along the black line/track and help the car to reach its allotted position. The elevator will have the ability to turn 90 degrees to let the car out and in when the movie is finished. The elevator will be covered with 3 walls that will prevent accidents. Stoppers will be provided so that the accidents can be prevented while the cars are parked on the platform. The stoppers will have the ability to go in and out of the platform so that the cars can use back gears. The cars will be parked at 2 m apart from each other to maintain social distancing. - Gauri Rohatgi

2. Our Drive-In-Multiplex is trying to promote the main idea of a normal drive-in-cineplex movies under the stars with open. The speakers will be tuned to the radio stations we give the audio of the movies, which has less lag than blue-tooth speakers.

- Emmanuel Dominic, Raghav Gokulnath and Vaishnav Krishnakumar

3.The following is my 3D model that brings people together to watch movies and have fun from the comfort and safety of their cars, the main speaker is Bluetooth aired to the cars ...or if the cars do not have a Bluetooth option, they will be provided by a Bluetooth speaker. The cars are sanitized on entrance and then the people can stay safe and have fun at the same time. - Hafsah Rehman

4. In this Drive-In Multiplex, major inconveniences of conventional multiplexes are solved. Two separate zones are present: A VIP Platinum zone and a Standard Zone. The VIP Platinum Zone has screens on a pillar where cars can park around it and watch the media being played. The Standard Zone has a larger number of spots and two large screens so that viewers can enjoy the experience in comfort. The seats are elevated in ascending order so that there will not be any problems with the height of vehicles. All facilities that include canteens and washrooms are available.

Students were given one hour to make a game on Tynker related to killing COVID 19. The competition was won by Team 2 of the Aquarius House. It was an interesting topic to make a game on and it also help to enhance the students' programming and app making skills.

1.Our Project was divided into three parts, each taken care by one member each. The members were Harsh, Johann, and Hitharth. Harsh made a game, that had corona as the point decreases and fruits as the point increasers. The points indicated immunity. Johann and Hitharth made animations showing how to defeat Corona (ex- staying at home, wearing a mask while going out, etc.).

- Hitarth, Harsh and Johann

2. We all have sunk deep into an ocean of lost hope. But we should not let faith cross and fly away from us just like that. If we all can follow simple steps and procedures such as wearing a mask, it can make a huge difference and have a massive impact. Awareness is equally important, and we thought of creating a child friendly game that showcases this. The first thing to do is to build a strong and healthy body, as that is how you can protect yourself. Eating fruits and vegetables is the first thing to pop in our minds.

- Kinjal and Richa

3. This project is a simple game where children will learn to take all precautions in the simplest way. In this game, the child should go to point b from point a.They should not touch other people, if touched, the game will be over, mission failed They get to know that social distancing in the simplest way and safest way to safeguard oneself from COVID-19.

- Sai Sankalp

4. My project is based on the current pandemic situation, and my goal while making the project, was to create a scene where the player themselves is in the game and is about to be attacked by a few viruses. The player has a vaccination in front of them that moves up and down, when the up and down arrows on their keyboard are pressed. There is also an ambulance present, just in case any viruses touch the player. If the viruses touch the player then they would receive a message asking them to click on the ambulance to be treated at the hospital. After that, they will receive a message saying that they have been cured and can play again. This game shows the effect of the new vaccine, that would be made for corona, if the player takes the vaccine for corona, then they will be safe from all viruses, whereas if they will not take the vaccine, they will have to go to the hospital.

- Maria Abraham

5. Our Team the "COVID warier" which include Luke, Bilal, and me, participated for the innovation day program in which, we needed to code in an app called tinker, each team needed to make a game on which we should fight against the virus. we came up with an idea in which one should lead the curser away from a virus which moves constantly. Our goal is to click a teleporting option which is the vaccine. We should not let the virus touch our cursor, and before it does, we must click the vaccine option 15 times to win the game. This was the project we codded for the innovation program.

- Luke, Bilal and Godwin

Inter house innovation competition was held for grade 6 . In this the participants had to build an automatic hand sanitizer circuit.
